Job Description - General Manager - Desert Mtn (25000727)Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a General Manager to join our team located in the Desert Mountain Sub-Region. This role is responsible for the profitability and growth of the business, as well as the creation and management of sales strategies that result in the achievement of business objectives. The products cover a broad range of industrial, medical gases, and hardgoods, serving a diverse customer base. The position has P&L accountability for approximately $195M in sales and approximately 330 employees.Responsibilities Define elements of regional business strategy within the area of responsibility.Manage sales professionals, direct sales activities, set key performance indicators for the sales force, and review performance against these indicators.Set group goals for profitable growth, including reviewing account plans and sales reports, and working with cost-to-serve models.Monitor sales plans to ensure compliance with short- and long-term goals, pricing strategies, and contracts.Validate business opportunities and assist the sales organization in identifying business alternatives, preparing proposals, and negotiating contracts.Maintain a clear understanding of the competitive market environment to adjust strategies and respond to economic changes.Review gains and losses and understand P&L for monthly reporting to senior management.Coordinate with retail locations and plant operations to meet customer needs while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.Perform customer site visits and address issues that are high impact or require escalation.Perform other duties as assigned.Requirements Bachelor's Degree and/or relevant job experience required.10-15 years of management experience required.5-10 years of direct selling experience preferred.Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.Ability to collaborate and build partnerships.Action-oriented, resourceful, with negotiation and influencing skills.Ability to travel at least 50% of the time.Linde is a leading global industrial gases and engineering company with 2024 sales of $33 billion.
