Job Title: Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer Profession: Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: 2 years preferred License: ARDMS registry, BLS - American Heart Association Certifications: ARDMS, BLS (AHA) Must-Have: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, effective communication Description: In this position, the Sonographer performs Ultrasound procedures to obtain desired imaging results according to physician specifications. This includes transferring patients for examinations and assisting with the Ultrasound examination process. Responsible for appropriate operation of all Ultrasound imaging and related equipment. Educates, positions, immobilizes, and performs Ultrasound procedures as required. Coordinates Ultrasound examinations to ensure timeliness, quality, and continuity of patient care. Understands and follows provider imaging orders correctly. Submits required images and related clinical information for interpretation. Evaluates image quality appropriately. Maintains open, accurate, and responsive communication with patients, coworkers, and leadership. Utilizes, charges, and maintains department supplies efficiently. Practices sterile techniques and follows infection prevention policies. Handles multiple tasks/projects and meets deadlines effectively. Safely performs Ultrasound procedures, including patient transfer. Skills required include all general and vascular ultrasound procedures except for ABIs and segmental pressure. Experience in understanding and usage of computers, including the Microsoft Office Suite, is essential. Ability to successfully function in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment is necessary.
